Registration of players for season 2011-2012

To all OPFC players and new members

The club will be running a total of 13 sides next season which includes 10 open age sides, 2 over 35 vets sides and over 45s sides on Sunday

In order to assess whether we can sustain these sides we will be asking all players to register with the club and by paying a £20 registration fee to ensure that we have the commitment of sufficient players by the start of the season. The form will need to be back with me by 31 August, this is to complete all the registration details which are sent to the league by the end of September. This form should be sent to my home address with the registration fee which is shown at the bottom of it or handed to me at Training.

However before you decide if you want to join next year you should consider the following criteria for membership:

  • When you register you agree to play for the club not a team
  • If asked to play for another side you will be expected to play. Players will be moved up and down the sides on merit and as requirements dictate
  • Playing for the club means that you socialise with your team mates after the game. We would expect most of the team to spend at least an hour together after the game.
  • We expect you to support all club functions to increase your knowledge of who else plays for the club
  • At home games all teams should come into the bar after the game regularly. At away games we are expected to go to the bar or pub for the hospitality provided as a minimum. This is a league requirement.
  • If your discipline record is poor we do not want you. We expect good behaviour on and off the pitch and a respect for the opposition and ALL referees as you represent the club
  • We expect you to be reliable and play regularly for the club. Late cry offs for any reason should be rare not a regular occurrence. No shows are never acceptable
  • You are expected to pay your subs each time you play.
  • Subs are £10 per game reduced to £5 for students in full time education
  • Details of the club code of conduct are here. We expect all members to follow this code.

Training will commence on Tuesday 19 July from 7.00pm till 10.00pm until the end of August when we revert to Thursdays. There is no charge for training.

Send the registration form back with the £20 which will make you a member of the club. (My address is on the form)  So in terms of team selection the priority is for the players who have registered and paid their £20 fee.
