A second game in a day meant some alterations to the team but these were mostly like for like changes, the formation and style of play relatively unchanged. The pace and competitiveness continued unabated but in this half we made quite a lot of ground bringing the ball out from right back Danny Isichei making several forays down the right wing and threatening to break through although not quite managing to do so despite spending extended periods of play on their left flank winning several corners, it was therefore a bit of a blow to lose Isichei to a muscle injury. Christopher Garnett-Shearer stepped into the role in his usual utility fashion but the game took a turn for the worse on the other side of the pitch as the visitors scored very much against the run of play, with Atiba Jackson certain he was fouled in the build up. Old Parmiterians continued to dominate though, with Old Ignatian unable to create much.
Half time was a sombre affair, the team had played very well for the most part but narrowly lost game one and were now trailing in game two. They were going to have to dig very deep to get anything from the day and it was certainly never going to be given them by an extremely proficient and capable opposition. Now attacking the clubhouse end and with the benefit of the chilly wind behind them the players rose manfully to the task and continued to put the opposition under more and more pressure forcing them into playing with nine and sometimes ten men behind the ball. This, of course, didn't make the job any easier and the clock kept ticking. Lucas Gonzalez delivered a superb cross into the area thatDario Marini headed over as Old Parmiterians came close to turning their possession into goals. Sami Bekir was getting some joy on the left flank but we also lost him to another muscle injury although not before putting in a telling tackle as the opposition broke through on their right.
As the time ticked away we did finally equalise with Scott Moore heading a free-kick delivery against the post, which hit an Old Ignatian's player and trickled in for an own goal. Finally some rub of the green. The game was set for a grandstand finish and Charlie Heath rose from the bench and to the occasion, bursting on to Garnett-Scherer's through ball and finishing cooly into the bottom corner after racing into the empty Ignatian's half. Well done Parms, I happen to think you'd earned that little slice of luck to bring the game level, and of course the glorious winner!
